About I love My Park Day- Jay Heritage Center

Join us at the Jay Heritage Center to celebrate the fourth annual I Love My Park Day! I Love My Park Day is an exciting statewide event to improve and enhance New York's parks and historic sites and bring visibility to the entire park's system and its needs. The day will start at 9 AM and ending time depends on the project, meeting location will be 210 Boston Post Road Project 1: From 9AM to 10:30AM Planting flowers into 6 large planters to be set at the entrance, exit and in front of the Mansion. Please bring garden gloves, water,a snack, trowels. Project 2: 9AM to 11AM Clear away debris on exit driveway, including trimming of overhanging vines as well as raking. Please bring gardening garden gloves. water, a snack, rakes and pruners! Project 3: 9AM to 12PM Create a path to garden "rooms" by Mansion by following the outlined pathway. Using edgers trowels and rakes to remove sod, stones, etc. in defined area. Please bring garden gloves, water, a snack, rakes, edgers, trowels, and a shovel. On Rain date: Removal of carpeting at the Carriage House by stripping off old carpet from a tiled floor. Probably use of a utility knife for this purpose. Therefore ages 15 and up.
