About Friendly Visits with Seniors in Somers
This is a great family project!
For Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, come with your children to visit seniors at the nursing home. Volunteers will spend time with seniors and participate in a variety of activities ranging from playing Bingo to reading aloud. Bring a little sunshine to the residents!
Did you know that seniors who are connected to their communities experience measurable improvements in their physical, social, spiritual, emotional, mental and economic well-being?
Be a part of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service.
*This is a family-friendly project for children 3 and over. If you are interested in signing up as a family, please choose Sign up with a team. Thanks!

The Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service brings together hundreds of volunteers in Westchester, Rockland, and Putnam for service projects that strengthen communities, empower individuals, bridge barriers, and create solutions. Join us and make this a day on, not a day off. http://www.volunteernewyork.org/mlk
About Somers Manor: Somers Manor Nursing Home believes in the principle that all of the residents of our facility shall be afforded every opportunity to continue to live as self-determining adults with their individuality remaining intact. Our goal is to provide a home-like atmosphere for all of our residents, albeit under the necessary constraints of institutional living. We adhere to the belief that all people have the right to pursue and achieve their social, psychological, cultural, biological, and spiritual goals.
