About FAFSA Workshop Volunteers Needed in White Plains
The FAFSA application--Free Application for Federal Student Aid--is the first and most important step in securing financial aid and scholarships for first-generation youth applying to college. For Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. join a team of volunteers as Latino U College Access hosts a FAFSA Boot Camps at the White Plains library to provide assistance with this very complicated form.
Volunteers will work at a computer station to assist a student and parent as they complete the application.
A 1 hour training will be provided and is required. Bilingual skills are helpful (Spanish) but not required. Prior accounting or income tax preparation experience is helpful too!
**This project is on Sunday, January 18th.**
About Latino U College Access: Latino U's mission is to increase college enrollment and completion among first generation Latino students by providing equal access and guidance through education, outreach, collaboration and advocacy.
The Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service brings together hundreds of volunteers in Westchester, Rockland, and Putnam for service projects that strengthen communities, empower individuals, bridge barriers, and create solutions. Join us and make this a day on, not a day off. http://www.volunteernewyork.org/mlk
