About The Settlement Home for Children: Volunteer Details


Our volunteers play an integral part in enriching the lives of individuals and families in our care. By sharing your skills and talents, you can make a last impact on our community.

Volunteer opportunities at The Home are varied to match your availability and interests. Learn more or reach out to us at

Individual Mentor - Build a healthy, positive relationship with one of our residents through activities on or off our campus.

Cottage Volunteer - Work with a group of residents living in one of our cottages and assist with activities.

School Volunteer - Tutor students one-on-one to help them with credit recovery, participate in classroom activities in our on-campus UT Charter School or assist with field trips.

Recreation Volunteer - Lead a recreation or health and fitness class, teach music lessons or host a workshop.

Foster & Adoption Program Volunteer - Drop off meals for new foster families, transport children to appointments or babysit children either in-home or on our campus.

Group Volunteers - Assist with campus beautification projects, host a dinner or special event, teach an educational workshop, support fundraising events or assist with holiday activities.

Community Youth Council - Membership based volunteer opportunities for Austin-area sophomores and juniors to support the programs and services we offer.
