We are looking for volunteers to be Gallery Attendants & Field Trip Docents!
Millard Sheets Art Center at the Fairplex in Pomona, is proud to present the Fifth Annual Regional High School Art Exhibition, ArtReach, which this year will be dedicated to The Art of Metaphor!
If you are interested in being a Gallery Attendant you will perform a number of duties, from helping guests find their way around to ensuring that works of art are secure and protected. You are the face of the museum, you’ll answer questions about the works of art, assist visitors, provide materials, and have knowledge of the exhibits history. You may be asked to open and close a space, tell visitors the exhibit is closing and assist in shutting down the exhibit for the day.
Don't know anything about art or ArtReach, it's okay, there's an orientation for that! We ask that you simply have an engaging and welcoming attitude and bring your best customer service skills to the table.
Friday, Saturday, Sundays, March 6th – March 27th, Noon – 5pm (Gallery hours)
There will be 2 shift times, 11:30am – 2:30pm & 2:30pm – 5:30pm
If you are interested in being a As a Field Trip Docent, you would lead a group of students through the gallery leading discussions on the art work and answering questions about the exhibit. Field trip docents are asked to attend a training prior to their shift, which will teach you about the exhibit, art work and how to engage students in an art related discussion.
The shifts for the Field Trip Docent are as follows:
Monday – Thursday, March 7th – 31st, 8:30am – 2:30pm
There will be 2 shift times, 8:30am – 11:30am & 12pm – 2:30pm (although we’d love to have volunteers who stay the whole day and take a break in between).

3/6/16 Shift from 11:30am-2:30pm (Gallery Attendant)
