About Victim Advocate
The Justice League of Ohio is a non-profit legal services organization whose mission is to protect the constitutional and statutory rights of victims of crime. We achieve this mission by providing free legal assistance to victims of crime to protect their rights, community outreach and education about crime victims’ rights, and by providing crime victims rights training to nurses, counselors, social workers, advocates, law enforcement, prosecutors, courts, and parole/probation officers.
The Justice League is seeking two Volunteer Advocates to assist staff attorneys. Volunteer advocates serve a critical role at the Justice League. Each case requires significant research and follow-up. Volunteer Advocates submit public records requests to law enforcement, coroner’s offices, and other agencies as needed. In addition, Volunteer Advocates work with crime victims to obtain confidential case related information as needed. Volunteer Advocates provide resource referrals to crime victims based upon their specific need, assist with safety planning, the crime victim compensation, and VINE.
