About Tutoring Adult Refugees

Tutors help students navigate and understand the work, especially vocabulary, in various courses (traditional high school subjects). Tutors may work one-on-one with a student or in small groups. Because of the population we serve, tutors need to be flexible as they may be working with different students and different subjects each time they are here. Our students are enrolled in an on-line high school completion program. They have all of their coursework available on-line. However, when they are in class, they are working out of the textbooks or on laptops when they need to submit an assignment or take a test.

Tutors are needed Monday - Friday from 9:00am to 12:00pm and/or 1:00pm to 4:00pm.

Application Process

Download and fill out the Volunteer Application and Consent for Background Check. Completed application and consent form may be emailed to Paula Frantz at [email protected] or dropped off in-person during our class hours.
