Give Homeless Moms and Kids a Brighter Future

Your gift will help us to change lives.

A fundraising campaign for The Front Door Agency, Inc.

The Front Door Agency Serves Families at Risk of  Homelessness
Since 1987, The Front Door Agency has been providing services to individuals and families in southern New Hampshire who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Motivated single mothers (ages 18 to 35) are invited to apply for our transitional housing program which empowers women through education.

Young mothers come to us in various states of crisis...from battling addiction to domestic violence to job loss. When they reach our doorstep, they need assistance to turn their lives around. They are often motivated by a strong desire to provide a safe home and a brighter future for their children

From Addiction to Self-Sufficiency: One Mother's Story
Kristi became addicted to opioids after being treated for Lyme disease while in high school. Although she had come from a loving home, she became alienated from her family as she spiraled downward into addiction, "hitting bottom many times."  She lost custody of her then 1-year-old son and spent time in and out of rehab -- but always for the wrong reasons.

Finally, she made the decision to get clean for her son. Since entering our Transitional Housing Program, Kristi has completed a cosmetology training program and is now working full-time. "The best thing the Front Door Agency did was to give my son his mother back," Kristi says.

What Your Gift Will Do
With your support, we can help more families like Kristi's. Your gift helps us to provide:

  • Basic essentials such as diapers, formula & personal care items for up to 26 families
  • Reliable transportation so our Moms can continue to get to school and work
  • Scholarships for education. Each client is required to pursue the next level in her education. That may be a high school equivalency, associate's or bachelors degree.

Some of our clients have gone on to receive fellowships and earn master's degrees; to start their own businesses and eventually to buy their own homes.

Last year, we served nearly 2,500 individuals through all of our programs: transitional housing; security deposit loans; assistance with back rent and utilities; and financial literacy classes. But we can't do it alone! Your gift in any amount truly does make a difference.
