About Bookkeeper/Financial Controller


The Freedom Café's unique non-profit model requires a bookkeeper/ controller who is familiar with the bookkeeping requirements of a café business as well as the financial record keeping requirements of a 501(c)(3) non-profit. This would include basic familiarity with Quickbooks, Square (mobile payments), and PayPal, as well as the tax preparation required for a non-profit. The key responsibilities of the role would include balancing the books, categorizing sources of income and expenses in Quickbooks, and generating monthly and annual financial reports which can be compared to the Café's annual budget. The volunteer bookkeeper role will require a commitment of 5-10 hours per month and will work under the direction of the Freedom Café's Executive Director, as well as with the Freedom Café's Board of Directors.
