About Volunteer Opportunities at The Farmers' Museum!

Do you have a love of art? Local history? Agriculture? Do you have the desire to give back to your community, but aren’t sure where to start? If you’ve answered yes, then become a volunteer at Fenimore Art Museum and The Farmers’ Museum!

Volunteers are needed year-round for a wide variety of events and daily activities. Just a few of the opportunities we have available are:

Special Events – Become a special event volunteer and help at some of the communities most well-known events, such as Candlelight Evening, Harvest Festival and Sugaring Off. Help with wagon rides, make pancakes, serve wassil, direct traffic; the opportunities are endless when it comes to special events.

Library – Have a love of books and special collections? Join our book repair club, or help visitors with research.

Gardening – Love to get your hands dirty? Spend some time on the farm helping plant and maintain our many gardens.

Gallery Attendants – Can’t get enough art in your life? Dive deep into our collections and specialize in one of our many galleries. Share your knowledge with visitors, and spread your love of art.

Application Process

Don’t feel like you are qualified to volunteer at the museums? Don’t be silly! The only qualification required is your desire to support two local museums that bring art and history to life in your community. We provide all necessary training and materials to help you succeed in any area of the museums.
