TEP awakens the social conscience of those youths caught in violent situations in the Las Vegas valley by exposing them to the stories of children in different parts of the world who are suffering due to violence and armed conflict. We provide violence awareness education, counseling, peaceful/positive choices, and conflict resolution, and we teach youth the social and educational skills needed to adopt a non-violent attitude. TEP engages youth through educational services, enrichment activities, leadership opportunities, and unconditional support. Families receive unlimited guidance (“wrap-around services”) during the juvenile court process including court advocacy, food distribution, and referrals to social services. The leadership opportunities offered to rehabilitated youth include training for mentorship, public speaking, job training, etiquette, and entrepreneurship opportunities. Their testimonies will open the door to start juvenile justice reforms.
