The Youth 360 Initiative is planning its’ 3rd Annual Bronzeville Youth 360 Summit and we need your support! On Friday January 6th, 2017, the 3rd Annual Bronzeville Youth 360 Summit will be hosted at Wendell Phillips High School. The Summit will include interactive workshops, guest speakers, a resource fair, and more!


The mission of this year’s Youth 360 Summit is to provide a series of innovative youth led workshops for Chicago area teens. The workshops will include a vast array of high interest options to engage each other in positive interactions with their peers and build their capacity. A key focus of this year’s Youth 360 Summit will be the creation of viable solutions to combat issues that plague our communities including health and wellness, police relations with the community, and college readiness.

We ask that you consider supporting for the 3rd Annual Bronzeville Youth 360 Summit. Your support will help Chicago youth explore leadership, learn about youth related programs and activities, and be inspired to reach their full potential.

Highlights from the last Youth 360 Summit 2016

On February 27th,2016, BSPC hosted the 2nd Annual Bronzeville Youth 360˚ Summit from 9-3pm at the Jacob H. Carruthers Center for Inner City Studies (CCICS) with 191 people in attendance. The summit was a collaborative effort among BSPC partners. The planning committee included representation from the Chicago Department of Public Health, the Chicago Housing Authority, The Community Builders, Centers for New Horizons, West Point Baptist Church, the Illinois Institute of Technology, Sigma Beta Iota Nu Chapter, Employment & Employer Services, Interstate Realty Management Company, and University of Chicago Charter Schools.


In addition to the planning committee, BSPC convened a Youth Steering Committee for the Summit that met weekly to ensure youth voice and representation in the planning and implementation.  Youth participated from Urban Prep Academy Bronzeville Campus, Sigma Beta Iota Nu Chapter, Oakwood Shores, PeaceHub Youth Council. 

The day consisted of a continental breakfast, several rounds of workshops, special presentations, with lunch and an entertainment portion with featuring spoken word and talented youth performances. Workshop topics included leadership development, teambuilding, violence prevention, and much more. Most workshops and presentations were led by youth groups such as Together Chicago, Sigma Beta, and Urban Prep Bronzeville. Special guest Ivan Ellis from the popular TV show Empire hosted a interactive acting clinic.  Workshop presenters, youth groups, and participating organizations also hosted information tables, providing youth with a wide variety of educational and employment resources.
