The Children's Advocacy Center of Erie County

About Us

“The CAC is both a place and a process. As a place, the CAC provides a child-friendly, neutral setting for children to be interviewed regarding allegations of abuse and neglect by those who are trained to gather information in the best interest of the child and family, as well as the investigative process. As a process, the CAC brings together all the different disciplines involved in the investigation to work together and share information to achieve the best and most accurate outcome for the child involved. That process stalls if not for the continuous support of partner agencies. The CAC is not a stand-alone entity; however, a collaboration across disciplines and a greater Erie community resource. Without hesitation, I tell those who ask me about the CAC that if your own child was abused, you would absolutely, unquestionably, want the CAC to take the lead. ” Sean Wiley, Former Chairman, CAC Board of Directors
