About Collection Connections
Enjoy staff-led explorations of the Barnes Foundation’s collections and programs. These are wonderful opportunities for learners of all ages to connect with the Foundation’s holdings.

We need volunteers to help with:
Docents
Docents are an important part of communicating Dr. Barnes’s vision, and they have the power to create a fun, welcoming, and educational experience for visitors. Docents attend the Foundation’s Art and Aesthetics courses, are educated in the theories of Dr. Barnes, and receive the necessary training to be a helpful and friendly resource for visitors.
To apply, you must satisfy the following pre-requisites:
Completion of Introduction of Visual Literacy
Completion of or current enrollment in Traditions of Art
Be available for active e-mail communication
Written application and letter of support
Once accepted, the following are the obligations of a Barnes Gallery Docent:
Successful completion of the Docent Training Program
Commitment to providing 60 hours of volunteer service. Availability during a combination of weekday, weekend, and evening hours is required.
Payment of annual dues ($35)
Adherence to all guidelines in the Barnes Foundation Docent Guidelines
