About Historic Tacony Revitalization Program

The Tacony Community Development Corporation is the sponsor of the effort to revitalize Torresdale Avenue in the Tacony section of Philadelphia. The revitalization effort will use the Main Street Four Point Approach to commercial district revitalization (www.preservationnation.org/mainstreet). Used successfully since 1980, the Main Street Approach is a historic preservation based, volunteer driven, economic development program. Established by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the Main Street Approach encourages local communities to work with volunteers around four Points or subject areas that then add up to a comprehensive revitalization effort.
