About MSU Statewide School

The MSU Statewide School is a special education preschool program that consists of 3 classrooms that are housed at the TK Martin Center for Technology and Disability. We welcome multiple volunteers for a few hours daily, Monday-Thursday, during the hours of 8:00-3:00. Tasks/activities required of the volunteers include assisting the teacher/teacher's assistant with various tasks, interacting with the children during educational activities, and assisting children with individual skills when appropriate. Volunteers will not be left alone with a child nor asked to toilet them.

To sign-up: Go to https://orgsync.com/74154/opportunities/711116/occurrences/1814620 and click REGISTER to complete the waiver, then contact Traci Linn Campbell with the T.K. Martin Center at [email protected] or 662-325-0894 to set-up your volunteer schedule or stop by the T.K. Martin Center during business hours to schedule your 1 hour training. All volunteers for the T.K. Martin Center are required to attend a 1 hour training with the center's behavioral psychologist just so that they kind of know what to expect in a special education classroom setting.

This is an ongoing volunteer opportunity. Students that will benefit are typically education majors and psychology majors, or students with interest in working with individuals with disabilities. Questions? Please contact the center at the email above.
