About Prevention Assistant / Intern
A SAC intern would assist with various prevention projects, programs and services. Youth will be valuable in identifying and developing creative ways to impact knowledge and behaviors of peers. The position has flexibility and variety.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with prevention staff on education outreach
Help provide information and technical assistance to community groups
Support special event projects (fairs, tobacco prevention projects, work with youth groups).
Keep track of work done for personal and organization’s use.
The position will enable SAC to reach youth audiences with prevention information and messages in creative ways. Activities will hopefully inspire young people to choose not to engage in drug using behavior and know how to resist and counteract peer pressure.
This position is best suited for those with:
Interest in program development, research, program implementation
Willingness to learn and teach
Able to work as a team member and independently
Some knowledge of computers helpful in project development and outreach to youth
