About Become a Career Mentor

As a career mentor, you volunteer to participate in a 13-session Career Ventures program at one of our program sites. You will work with a co-mentor to guide one trainee through our well-structured professional development and job-skills training curriculum.
As a mentor, you will help your trainee develop hard and soft job skills; assess career goals and map a career plan; and support them in expanding their professional network and implementing their career plan.

The Commitment:
You’ll work with your co-mentor and trainee over the course of three months. Sessions are held in the evenings or on Saturdays. You will also communicate with your trainee via phone and email over the course of the program.

To help you be the best career mentor you can be, StreetWise Partners provides training to teach you how to facilitate discussions, overcome the unique challenges of the population we serve, and manage your trainee.
