About Streets Alive! Ithaca

Cayuga Street
1-4pm: Biking, walking, rolling. Come out and enjoy a spacious Cayuga street closed to cars. This is the MAIN activity of Streets Alive! Take a Sunday stroll the length of Cayuga Street or try out a bike and make a few trips.

IHS Parking Lot
1-4 pm: Bike Rodeo presented by Way2Go. Learn new bike skills to keep you safe and confident on your bike. For kids and adults alike.
1-4 pm: Demonstration with Ithaca CarShare and TCAT. FREE ice cream from Ithaca Carshare. Check out new ways to get around.
1-4 pm: Bike Repair Station with the Friends Bike Clinic.
TBD: Demos of unicycling, longboard/skateboard and roller derby. Plus chances to try it out. Check back later for more info.

Thompson Park
1-4 pm: Chat up transportation with our local elected officials at the PARK(let) on Cayuga St.
1-4 pm: Community Organization info and activity tables.
1-4 pm: Bike Repair Station with Recycle Ithaca’s Bicycles (RIBs).
TBD: Tai Chi and Yoga. Check back later for more info.

Dancing in the Street - at the south end of Cayuga Street near Court Street
Come out and try different forms of dance and dance fitness. A great way to stay physically active. Presented by Finger Lakes Fitness.
1-1:30 pm: Zumba with Felipe & Cynthia
1:30-2pm: Hula with Julianne
2 pm – 2:30: Hip Hop with Luis Manual & Zero Degrees
2:30 – 3 pm: Bellydance with Tessa
3 – 3:30 pm: Zumba#2 with Felipe & Cynthia
3:30 – 4pm: Salsa Wheel & Giant Electric Slide with Felipe & Cynthia

Activity Along the Route
This is your street. Enjoy it. If you wish to add an activity, you can. Pick a site on a part of the street, chalk your space and have fun. Hacky sac, hula hooping, even street hockey. Just make sure to leave more than 1/2 the street for traffic flow – cyclists, walkers, strollers, etc. If you are planning in advance, please let us know so we can let others know here on the website and on Facebook.
