About Tutor Children in Detroit this Summer

The Children’s Summer Tutoring Program runs on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1pm-4pm from July 11th, 2017 - August 17th, 2017. It is a free tutoring program for 1st-5th graders.
Volunteer tutors work with one or two students on math and reading worksheets/games, flashcards, reading books together, and writing sentences. Our staff prepares all of the materials for you and the students to work on together. This work is individualized to help the student at whatever level they are at.

Our classrooms are set up to where there are 7-10 children in a room and each child is paired up with a tutor. So, there are other children and tutors in the room with you and a staff member is always in the area to assist as needed.

There are free fieldtrips on some of the Thursdays of the Program as well.

Application Process

We have an application that asks for contact information, 2 references, education/work experience, etc. and I run an online background check. A Central Registry Clearance is also requested.
