Just four and a half months after flooding for the first time on May 7, 2019, St. Martha
Catholic School took on water, yet again, in the downpour of rain brought by Tropical
Storm Imelda and the subsequent flooding of local bayous on September 19, 2019. We
experienced "unprecedented water levels" as Father TJ said, with Building 4 taking on
4-6 inches of water, and 3-4 inches of water filling Building 7. Every first-floor
classroom and office were ruined. While we are heartbroken over the damage to our
facilities, we are thankful that no students were on campus at the time of flooding, unlike in May. All donations and prayers are greatly appreciated as we rebuild our campus for the second time and focus on continuing to provide a stellar Catholic education. Any funds donated will be used for classroom supplies, general repairs, future flood prevention resources, and Tuition Assistance for our families impacted by flooding.
"God is with us. He's going to get us through this.
We've been through high waters before, we're going to get
through it again, but we appreciate all the prayers and support."
