About Foster Palm Beach - Foster Parents

Foster Parents act as substitute parents caring for all of a child’s needs, educational, medical, & developmental, while working with agencies for therapy and other required services. They help transition a child for reunification with parents.

To qualify as a potential foster parent you must:

​1. Attend an orientation and complete the application
2. Complete 20 to 30 hours of foster parent training
3. Favorability pass a child abuse and criminal background check
4. Participate in a home inspection
5. Participate in a home study to review your readiness for fostering
6. Be accepted and follow-through with licensing requirements
7. Be prepared and ready to welcome foster children into your home
