About Patient Visitor

Being a SouthernCare volunteer can be one of the most rewarding experiences that you will ever have. A short training is required. We accommodate the time schedule of the volunteer. All volunteers who have direct patient care are given a two-step tuberculosis screening. Volunteers schedule their own hours according to what is convenient for them.

Volunteers are needed to provide friendly visits to nursing home and/or in-home patients. May read to residents, take them for a walk if permissible, write letters, listen and be there for patients who need companionship.

Hours: Flexible, we work with your schedule.

Minimum age: 18, or 14 with adult.

SouthernCare is looking for volunteers in Kalamazoo, Cass, Calhoun, St. Joseph, Allegan, Barry, and Van Buren county areas.
