About Lifelines to Solitary

Solitary Watch's Lifelines to Solitary program connects individuals living in solitary confinement in U.S. prisons with correspondents on the outside. Lifelines to Solitary correspondents provide a vital source of human contact to people who live in extreme isolation, surrounded by gray walls.
Participants are asked to commit to writing at least once a month. All responses are forwarded by Solitary Watch, so correspondents' full names and home addresses are kept confidential. Our program coordinator is available to provide guidelines and support.
For more information, visit http://solitarywatch.com/about-lifelines/, and join hundreds of Lifelines to Solitary correspondents in reminding individuals in solitary confinement that they have not been forgotten by the world outside their cells.
(Please note that this volunteer opportunity is limited to individuals 21 and older. )
Application Process
Email Marlies at marlies@solitarywatch.org, who will provide detailed information about the program and process, and respond to your questions before signing you up as a correspondent and providing you with the name of a person in solitary.
