About Sharing Stories with Kids in Kenya
Simbolei Community Assistance needs volunteers to travel to Kenya July 2-10 to help with our annual Literacy Outreach program in rural primary schools. Volunteers read stories, coordinate art projects and help donate books to hundreds of kids in six rural primary schools. Volunteers are expected to be fluent readers and speakers of English and to love children and books.
Application Process
Completed applications are due May 20. Volunteers will need to pay for their transportation, food and lodging and will need to complete a background check and liability waiver. Details and itinerary are available now. Children under 18 must travel with a participating parent. Email us at [email protected] for full information. As we can accept a limited number of volunteers, we will give priority to those applicants who have completed the application and paid the deposit by order of application completion date. Priority will also be given to volunteers with education and literacy experience.
