The Grocery Shopping Assistance Program provides weekly or biweekly grocery shopping for homebound seniors in Albany County who are unable to shop for themselves. The purpose of this program is to enable older adults to remain in their homes and communities, allowing them to maintain their independence, as long as possible. Volunteers are assigned a senior based on location and volunteer schedule. Volunteers pick-up the list and payment from the senior, go to the grocery store to purchase the items and then deliver the groceries to their home. There is no charge to seniors for this service.
