About Manager of Scout Groups (volunteer)
We are searching for a new Area Commissioner for Carleton Area (Richmond-Kanata-
Stittsville-Dunrobin)!
An Area Commissioner is recognized as the point of contact between the local
scouting groups and the council level of Scouts Canada. Responsibilities would include
ensuring that the groups receive the support necessary for them to deliver quality programs to the youth members, and encouraging growth within the area.
As Area Commissioner, you would have the opportunity to interact with other adult
volunteers to support, strengthen, and grow the Scouts Canada program within local
communities. Estimated time required for this volunteer position is 16 to 20 hours per month.
In this roll, you will meet regularly with the group commissioners to review their plans and progress for growth, represent the Area as a member of the Council Commissioner’s team, recruit, orient, and appoint other volunteers. Skills in communication, leadership and the management of volunteers would be an asset.
