About Sunny's Sol Fest

Sunny’s Sol Fest began in 2011, just a year after the foundation of Saving Sunny, and for many years carried the name, “Pitty Fair.” Our goal was to create a free community event where our favorite blocky-headed dogs were welcome, and their owners could enjoy a pet- friendly festival full of music, local art, dog adoptions, and more. Pitty Fair became our Flagship event, and
year after year we welcomed hundreds of Louisvillians and their awesome dogs. In 2017, we decided to take a deeper look at why we do what we do, and because our mission is to advocate for equality for all walks of life by helping pets and their people, we wanted to give Pitty Fair a new name that encompassed our brand, and so that all families felt welcome at our event. That is how Sunny’s Sol Fest was born -- same event, just a different name that embodies how this day makes every one of us feel .
. . like a beaming ray of sunshine, just like our namesake, the late Sunny.
