Based in Washington, DC, Saving Promise is a national nonprofit organization with a vision to lead a call to action to change intimate partner violence in America. A commitment born from one woman’s hope to stop the cycle of violence in her family. Founder L.Y. Marlow’s story is about four generations of mothers and daughters who survived more than sixty years of domestic violence. When L.Y. discovered that her twenty-two year old daughter was trapped in an abusive relationship that also threatened her granddaughter, a little girl named Promise, she founded Saving Promise with the intention of saving Promise, which blossomed into a vision for the nation.
Saving Promise aims to enlist the support of America—from survivors and advocates, to corporate executives and social leaders—ordinary people willing to stand up for a little girl named Promise, and turn this national health crisis into a national priority.
