About Shelter Volunteer for San Francisco SPCA

Adoption Matchmaker:
Provide a warm greeting and excellent customer service to our adoption center clients as you help them find the right cat or dog.

Animal Photography:
Help reduce the length of stay for cats and dogs by making sure they show their best side in the photos on our website.

Dog/Cat Socializing and Training:
Help make their stay less stressful and ready them for a loving home by spending time socializing or training cats and dogs, and making sure dogs get their daily walks.

Dog Training Class Assistance:
Support our dog trainers in their dog training classes, usually on weeknights and weekends.

Food Preparation and Feeding:
Assist our staff as they make sure our animals get the nutrition they need to thrive.

**Program Basics:
--Most volunteer positions require a commitment of at least six months.
--Anyone 18 years or older may apply to become an SF SPCA volunteer.
