Through the Angel Tree Program shoppers become personally involved because they are able to choose a specific individual, an “Angel,” to help. Shoppers purchase Christmas gifts for their “Angel” and return them to the Angel Tree to be distributed by The Salvation Army. The Angel Tree program brings holiday joy to thousands of needy children in the Tupelo area during the Christmas Season. This committee chair will schedule volunteers to staff the Angel Tree in the mall from the third week of November through mid-December, approximately 4 weeks. The chairman should make sure there are at least 2 people at the booth at all times. The duties at the booth include registering shoppers who want to adopt an angel and receiving and bagging the returned gifts.

• Angel Tree Distribution Center
This committee chair will be involved in setting up the center for the distribution of Christmas toys. She will secure volunteers to work in the distribution center during the two weeks before distribution day. She will be responsible for meeting volunteer groups and supervising their activities such as checking in the gifts, making toy bags for those who were not adopted, and placing the bags in their assigned area for pickup.
