The MAC Legal Advice Clinic – Attorney Volunteers Needed

Every Wednesday from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

SALSA has partnered with The Multi-Assistance Center at Morgan’s Wonderland (The MAC) to host the MAC Legal Advice Clinic, offering a unique opportunity to assist families with disabilities. As a volunteer attorney at this clinic, you’ll meet with clients to provide crucial legal advice on a variety of issues. While the specific needs may vary, common topics include public benefits access (especially SSI/SSDI), guardianships and alternatives to guardianship, insurance appeals, and housing and employment issues.

Clinic Location:
The clinic is held at The Multi-Assistance Center (The MAC) at Morgan’s Wonderland, located at 5210 Thousand Oaks Drive, San Antonio, Texas 78233. Free parking is available across the street behind the stadium, and accessible parking is available in the lot closest to The MAC.

Remote Volunteering Option:
If you prefer to volunteer remotely, please indicate this on the submission form. Remote volunteers will be on call and provided with a Zoom link on the morning of the clinic. You will be contacted when a client is ready to meet with you.

What to Expect:

Volunteer law students from St. Mary’s University may assist with intake. You will then be paired with a law student and a client to discuss the relevant legal issues.
Your meeting with the client will take place during the designated clinic hours. If the client’s situation requires more complex assistance, SALSA staff will provide referral information for additional resources after the clinic.
