About 9th Annual Spring Into Action 5K & Fun Run

Each day we have the opportunity to be a hero to a child in need. We can all be “Everyday Heroes” when we work together as a community to keep our children safe. April is nationally recognized as Child Abuse Prevention Month and we are bringing the national observance into our community with our 9th Annual Spring Into Action 5K Run and Family Fun Run!

The goal of this event is to raise awareness on the sensitive subject matter of child abuse as well as raise funds to provide direct services to children and their families that are beginning their journey to healing from the abuse/trauma.

We are looking for some enthusiastic volunteers to hand out pinwheels and medals to our 5K and Fun Run participants!

The race will take place on April 14 at 510 E Broad St, West Point, MS 39773. It begins at 8 am.

Volunteers will help with the following:
· Rally stations along race route to cheer on runners
· Finish line refreshments table (keep ice stocked, water in coolers, monitor food)
· Manage kids area in the park (will need volunteers to do face painting, facilitate games with kids)
· Registration table (assist runners in picking up registration packets and T-shirts and registering new runners)
· Man the aid stations (pass out water to runners as they go by)
· Event set up (setting up tables, tents, and sponsor signage/promotional materials before race start)
· Race clean up
