About KIDS' DRAMA CLUB - Once a week makes a difference in their world

RPP runs KDC in a joint effort with the Island School on Boca Grande. It's a once-a-week, after school program, that runs from 3 to 4:30 PM. Every child, regardless of grade or age, is welcome. We teach improv and theater games to begin each season, working up to monologues and storytelling as the kids progress. The season ends with a show in the auditorium starring every child in the club. Tickets are free. Every year, every seat is taken by friends, family and neighbors anxious to encourage the creativity that comes from learning to get up in front of an audience. The show is followed by 'Pizza With The Stars'. All adults must be accompanied by a child to enter this fun cast party, Some of our club members have starred in our main stage productions. Some have joined theater programs in local high schools and colleges. One self-proclaimed mute actually found his voice through KDC. That's why the volunteers running this club say they get back more than they give.
