About PROJECT INSPIRE ACADEMY

Short Description of the program and its activities. The mission of PROJECT INSPIRE ACADEMY is to provide impactful and transformative academic and social programs and activities that create the opportunity for individuals to excel academically and individually, and to assist with removing barriers and obstacles that hinder or prevent them from doing so. The vision of PROJECT INSPIRE ACADEMY is that all children will truly have an equal opportunity to learn, grow and excel academically and individually and to reach their full creative potential. PROJECT INSPIRE ACADEMY trains youth, K-12, in the areas of education, particularly math and reading skills, leadership, problem-solving, negotiations, current events, community involvement, self-care, personal reflection, and communication. For those families dealing with incarceration and/or recent release, we place a special emphasis on social support and guidance.

Application Process

There is a volunteer application that must be filled out before you are able to serve. Additionally, there is an detailed onboarding/orientation process to address program specifics, agency policies and expectations. Volunteers are given a Volunteer Policies and Procedures Handbook and a background check is done on all volunteers who work directly with children. This does not exclude. Exclusions are:
child abuse, elderly abuse, violent and anger issues.

There are many opportunities for men, women, young adults and youth to exercise their talents and abilities at RJM. Currently we are recruiting for the following volunteer positions: Van Drivers (must be at least 30 years old with clean driving record); Data collection Coordinator; Activity Coordinators; Certified Substitute Teachers; Clean up Helpers; Mentors/Coaches; and many more opportunities. Call 502 554 3770 to inquire.
