About Nehemiah Call to Action

Volunteers are needed to serve as Mentors, tutors, and life coaches to young people between the ages of 16 to 21 Preparing young people for the world of Work, Build a support system for this who can't get that at home. Helping young adults excel to the next level of their lives and assist them with navigating needed resources such as mental health counseling; substance abuse prevention treatment: job training and help in finding employment. Working with returning citizens from the prison and Correction system by assisting them to navigate their way to a successful pathway and integrate them back into community, family and career.

Application Process

All volunteers must complete Volunteer Orientation Session, sign confidentiality form, and background checks will be performed. (If you have a criminal record that does not exclude you from volunteering but will be reviewed on a case by case basis)

Reentry Coordinator

This position will work closely with Louisville Department if Corrections and Pee Wee Valley Women's Prison and Mens prison Reentry Coordinator. Assist Executive Director of RJM in building a network of resources for returning citizens. Assist Spalding University Intern with making sure our returning citizens clients are following progressing thru theirassessment plan.

This task is filled or completed
Assist Executive Director of RJM with enrolling returning citizens coming from Prison and Metro Department Of Corrections. Build relationships with other organizations who provide services to returning citizens. Track and assess returning citizens in terms of making sure they are following their assessment plan. Coordinate with Family Integration Coordinator services being used by the returning citizen and to address any issues or challenges that would impede the that family from being self supportin.
