About Life Skills Training Instructors

Duties: Teach one or more classes in leadership Development, Character Education, Racial Inequality, Social Justice, Community Organizing, Inclusiveness and Diversity, Importance of Integrity and Moral Ethics, Teambuilding, Effective communication skills, Understanding the importance of Doing the Right Thing; Because It's The Right Thing To Do. Serve as positive adult role model at all times when interacting with youth, Serve as group discussion facilitator and Be able to follow and understand structured curriculum. At certain times of the year, there we do theme week and allow students to pick the topic of the week based on current events happening in our city and in our nation. Volunteers also have opportunities to introduce topics or activities which must be approved by the Executive Director before presenting to students.
AGE OF YOUTH: 5 to 17 years of age
HOURS: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays, between the hours of 3 pm to 6 pm. Volunteers desiring to serve can sign up for as little or as many hours as your schedule will allow. Classes usually last 1.5 hours.
