About Ride for the Rescue

Changes are coming to Ride for the Rescue! It will take place earlier in the summer at a new location!

As the Rescue Mission celebrates its 125th year of serving homeless and needy people, we're planning for an even bigger and better Ride for the Rescue.

For the seventh year, this bicycle-and-more fundraiser moves to Long Branch Park, located at the northern end of Onondaga Lake Park in Liverpool. Long Branch Park originally opened as an amusement park about five years before the Rescue Mission began helping the poor, and was a popular place for family fun near and on Onondaga Lake during its heyday.

Next summer, bicyclists of every age and experience and other friends of the Rescue Mission will join together here to raise money and awareness for the homeless as part of a family event that includes music, food and other outdoor fun.
