About Mentor

The Mentor is the primary relational contact with the resident and should plan to meet with their mentee at least once a week for various activities –Sometimes to work through the resident’s life plan together, go to church, and other times just hang out and having fun together. The key is being present with them. Great Mentors understand the value of ‘doing life together’ and making the most of teachable moments. Mentors don’t have perfect lives and don’t need to have all the answers. Instead it’s like Paul said in the Bible, “Follow me as I follow Christ”

Mentors will be responsible to:
-Pray for the growth of the mentee
-Establish the life plan and manage it over time.
-Provide accountability for program guidelines and regular meetings (i.e. with Budget Coach etc.)
-Report to the Director regarding the Mentee’s development and needs
-Have fun with the mentee
