We are accepting applications for a Public Relations Director to strengthen the capacity of RED SWEATER PROJECT to develop and implement community and school-based health programs at Mungere Secondary School.

Volunteer Period:
2 to 5 hours per week, ongoing

Job Description:
Management of organizational public relations, including outreach and public image; reports to Executive Director

Responsibilities:
-Prepare and edit organizational publications for external audiences and distribute to media outlets
-Establish and maintain relationships with media representatives and outlets related to the organization’s areas of interest (e.g. non-profits, international development, education, health, etc.)
-General advertising and promotion
-Coordinate responses to requests for information from the media, acting as public spokesperson or appointing appropriate spokesperson or information source
-Arrange public appearances, lectures, speaking engagements and fundraising events to promote the organization with the Executive Director
-Identify key trends to develop public relations strategies to increase organizational exposure

Qualifications:
-Minimum 4-year degree
-2-4 years work experience in a public relations office, preferred management role
-Organized and good communicator
-Ability to commit 2-5 hours per week
