The Volunteer Program at Red Sweater Project connects like-minded people from around the globe with communities in rural Tanzania to bring about long-term change in communities where infrastructure and lack of social services inhibits children from gaining an education. We are accepting applications for a Grant Writer to assist with the research and writing of grants to support Red Sweater Project and Mungere Secondary School. Mungere Secondary School opened in 2012, and our international offices demand the passion and organization of a dedicated professional. The Grant Writer will coordinate with the Executive Director in the United States, supporting our projects in Tanzania.

Volunteer Period:
Ongoing

Time Commitment:
1-3 hours per week

Responsibilities:
-Generate revenues for organizational programs and services through timely submission of well-researched, well written and well-documented grant proposals
-Identify funding opportunities and new program areas to match organizational priorities using research tools
-Engage with program officers at organizations and foundations to solicit invitations to submit proposals
-Generate proposals and supporting documents in response to solicitations
-Maintain and implements grants calendar including activities
-Write and submit follow-up reports and updates to government, corporate, foundations and other funders

Qualifications:
-Minimum 4-year degree
-2-4 years work experience grant writing and researching
-Excellence in writing and comprehension, organization and communications
-Flexibility to work individually and as part of a diverse team
-Professionalism and passion
