About NC SciFest Get STEM Ed.

Get STEM Ed. will involve a virtual trip across the habitats of the North Carolina including the Mountains, Piedmont, and Coastal Regions. These regions will be represented by the different building floors and each level must be reached to complete the expedition. There will be; water tables, activities, river systems, water quality testing, an adventure course, Geospatial information class, videos, flora & fauna.

The participants will be given a branch out card to complete the expedition by choosing from the activities and events that will rotate every 12 minutes and commence every quarter hour. The participant may linger in an area of interest but should be encouraged to explore further.

As an expedition volunteer, you will staff the areas and activities. AS Queens Students you are the perfect mentor to the children eagerly promoting interest in the STEM subject fields and will be able to integrate the fresh experiential components. By teaching from an environmental education standpoint, children will be able to connect and integrate what they learn during the event into their everyday life.

Volunteer in your favorite Region; Mountains, Piedmont, Coast - there will be one hands on activity minimum, Human impact/element, sense of place/history, area photos, 1 cool flora & 1 cool Fauna found in that region, & Videos
