Jacksonville, FL November 23, 2020 ---- Nationally acclaimed actor Lane Harper – [from movie, “Justice On Trial”], the Executive Director of Power of Life Foundation, partners with Pastor Derrick L. Mercer of Second Missionary Baptist Church for a ‘Holiday Drive-Thru’ giveaway event.

This joint venture will provide more than 10,000 free, reusable cloth face masks and free food for more than 500 families in the Duval County area. The beautiful masks are provided by noragardner.com, Sustainable Tallahassee and the Loving Hands Sewing Group. Food provided by Farm Share.
Background information on Foundation Director Lane Harper
Lane Harper, Executive Director of the Power of Life Foundation, is a Birmingham Police Officer, a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, a member of the National Organization for Black Law Enforcement Executives, (N.O.B.L.E.), and a member of Phi Beta Sigma fraternity. Lane has dedicated 15 years of his career towards helping citizens during difficult times. The Foundation’s mission is to assist people with basic human needs such as: temporary housing, food supplies, clothing, COVID-19 relief, health and wellness and youth development. Since the onset of the COVID-19 virus, the Power of Life Foundation’s mission has been focused on assisting communities with flattening the curve of the virus and helping with food insufficiency in areas that are underserved.
Second Missionary Baptist Church is a local historical monument located in the heart of downtown Jacksonville, Florida. This prestigious church recently celebrated 170 years of existence in November 2020 and is currently pastored by the innovative and transcending preaching of Pastor Derrick L. Mercer.
The Power of Life Foundation has now successfully distributed more than 77,000 face masks and over 100,000 pounds of food across the southeast United States with a goal to flatten the curve by 30% in every city they visit.
