Words & Friends for Literacy 2017

Changing Lives, One Word at a Time

A fundraising campaign for Portage County Literacy Council

Make an exponential difference

Spreading awareness is a great way to help support our cause.

Words & Friends for Literacy is our annual fundraiser in support of adult literacy services in Portage County. Whether or not you can make it to the event on April 27, please donate today to support this effort.

The Portage County Literacy Council believes that all adults have the right to literacy. Literacy provides adults with the opportunity to fully participate in our community - as parents, neighbors, employees, students, and friends. Help us change lives, one word at a time!

Proceeds from the event are essential to PCLC services. Utilizing over 1,200 volunteer hours per year, we provide one-on-one tutoring and small group instruction to help our learners improve their skills and achieve their goals. With your help, we can serve approximately 50 learners in 2017. Approximately 75% of our learners are women and most have children.
