About Event/Tabling Volunteer

Event/Tabling volunteers often serve as the face of PALNV. This role offers a fun opportunity to participate in a variety of events, help share PALNV’s pet-positive messages, and let the public know about our role in animal welfare in Las Vegas.

Duties May Include:
• Assisting with event scheduling, communications, and
promotion.
• Assisting at an in-house event by checking people in,
selling raffle tickets, giving out gift bags, etc.
• Making/assembling gift bags or other items that would
be used for an event
• Brainstorming about fundraising events/ideas with
PALNV staff, Board Members, and/or other volunteers
• Helping to implement new ideas into tangible activities
• Picking up tabling supplies prior to a tabling event at
PALNV’s office and returning supplies to the office and
restocking them after the event
• Staffing tables or booths at local stores, community fairs
and festivals, or expos.
• Picking up equipment from PALNV prior to a scheduled
event or tabling appointment and returning it afterwards.
• Sharing information about PALNV programs and interests
with the public.
• Requesting pet food donations from customers while
they shop in a store.
• Securely accepting monetary donations and offering
donation receipts.
• Encouraging people to sign up for PALNV’s email list to
receive more information.
• Selling and tracking PALNV gift shop merchandise –
volunteers will be taught to use a touch screen tablet so
credit/debit card donations/payments can be accepted

Qualifications:
• Volunteers will need to attend a volunteer orientation
and training prior to first shift.
• Good customer service, positive attitude, and
communication skills highly desired.
• Willingness to remain flexible to meet current needs as
they arise.
• Genuine concern for the welfare of animals and their
guardians that is consistent with the philosophy of
PALNV.
• Ability to lift and move up to 20 lbs. of event
supplies/equipment.

Importance of this Role:
Volunteers who fill this position represent PALNV publically and are the people who shape the public’s perception of the organization. Volunteers are essential to supporting our mission, raising awareness of our services and upholding our reputation. These volunteers are critical to PALNV’s continued growth and ability to help more animals and their guardians
