About Mighty Oak Awards - Honoring Pillars in Our Community Amid the COVID-19 Pandemic

Helping individuals and families move toward family stability and economic self-sufficiency is Outreach's daily challenge and our distinctive strength. Outreach serves people intent on making life-changing choices.

For more than a decade, Outreach - Center for Community Resource has recognized service-minded individuals and businesses in our community who have stood out among their peers in their civility with the Mighty Oak Award. These individuals and businesses, either directly or indirectly, support Outreach's mission and the opportunity for real change in the lives of the individuals and families utilizing Outreach programs and services.

The symbol of this support to families is an acorn. Outreach provides programs to support families as they grow in strength, symbolically from an acorn into a mighty oak tree. The Mighty Oak Award recognizes those individuals who support, not only the families Outreach serves, but also our larger community.

This year, the committee identified Gerrity's Supermarket (represented by Joseph Fasula) and Scranton Primary Health Care Center (represented by Joseph Hollander) as this year's honorees for going above and beyond in their efforts to support and serve as pillars in our community amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Please join us at Glenmaura National Golf Club on Wednesday, October 6, as we celebrate Gerrity's Supermarkets and Scranton Primary Health Care Center for their stalwart support of our community, especially throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
