Oktoc Animal Rescue is looking for volunteers who are interested in fostering one of our animals that has been rescued. When you foster an animal, you are agreeing to take a homeless animal into your home and give him or her love, care and attention until the animal is adopted. Although we provide shelter to as many animals in need until they are adopted, we have limited space and depend on foster homes to help us achieve our mission.
Foster homes are held to the same standard that we ask of our adoption homes. We do a vet check to see that all animals are up-to-date on vet care. We ask past pet history and go to the home to visit your present dogs if you have any. Oktoc Animal Rescue covers the costs for all basic veterinary care including but not limited to spaying/neutering, vaccinations, worming, and tick/flea prevention. We do ask that our fosters cover the basic necessities (food, water, toys, litter), and most importantly lots of TLC. If finances are tight, we can assist with the essentials. We will place foster animals on our website through petfinder and through our facebook page. It is the responsibility of Oktoc Animal Rescue to approve applications for adoptive homes before placing animals in permanent, loving homes. But we do ask foster parents input on how comfortable they feel in the adoption of their foster animals.
