About Humane Society Volunteer Orientation

Have you wanted to volunteer at the Oktibbeha County Humane Society/Starkville Animal Shelter? If so, the first step is to attend one of our Volunteer Orientation Sessions provided by the Oktibbeha County Humane Society to learn how to be a helping hand for animals at the shelter.
Upcoming dates for Volunteer Orientations in September and October include Wednesday, September 30; Thursday, October 7; Monday, October 19; and Wednesday, October 28. All Orientations will be held at the shelter beginning at 5:30 PM and will last approximately 45 minutes.
After completing Orientation, you will be given information as to how to proceed with volunteering for the Starkville Animal Shelter and making a difference in the lives of our furry friends.
For more information, contact the volunteer coordinator, Sheri Wiygul, at (662) 773-2956 or the Oktibbeha County Humane Society at 662-338-1065.
Please be sure you have completed a volunteer application which can be found here: http://www.ochsms.org/volunteer.aspx.
Filling the form out at the meeting holds the rest of the group up so please do it beforehand. Any volunteer under 16 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Application Process
There is a $10 fee payable at training by cash or check.
Volunteers must register before attending training.
