About Barber/Cosmetologists

Volunteers are needed to cut and/or style hair for boys and girls ages 10-18 to maintain personal appearance and hair hygiene of youth. As part of the services we offer, some of our youth go on off campus trips for educational tours, athletic events, and community service opportunities as part of their scheduled activities. Our youths' appearance is a vital display of individual self-respect, character, and citizenship they display on a daily basis.

Volunteers must fill out an application, which includes a background and child abuse registry check. We advise all who are interested to contact the Volunteer Coordinator for more information as soon as possible so records can be received in a timely manner. The volunteer for this opportunity MUST BE a licensed individual or student enrolled in a barber/styling program leading up to a license with considerable experience. Experience must include knowledge of hygiene, safety, skin, scalp, disease prevention, and equipment sterilization. Proof of certification or enrollment must be presented with application.
