Our motto is “dedicated to service others after the benediction.” Mission to promote healthy living in eating, exercise, and life choices
Oak Hill Missionary Baptist Church Ministries Incorporated (Oak Hill) was originally organized in 1879 near its present location in Hernando, Mississippi. We are aligned with the National Baptist Convention, USA, Incorporated. During our over 130 years of services, Oak Hill has been a beacon of hope for the community fulfilling Jesus’ Great Commission to “go.” Oak Hill has a four member corporate board responsible to a leadership council (deacon and trustee ministries) and operational council (leadership council and heads of all church ministries). These councils meet quarterly acting on behalf of the general membership. There are two church meetings annually.
As a modern missionary congregational, Oak Hill’s ministries are focused around three central areas God focused, inward focused, and outward focused. We are focused on glorifying God in our worship and by providing an adequate place for His worship. That aim resulted in the completion of our new worship center in 2003. We have been focused inward as we have made trinity wellness – mind, body, and spirit, the centerpiece of our teaching and practice. We have been successful in achieving a status in which there are no morbidly obese members with nearly every family eating healthier. Finally, we have been focused outward. Our grounds are available for community residents to have prayer and meditation as well as use our walking track.
